FedNow ® real-time instant payments, are defined simply as: Irrevocably collected funds in a bank account and usable immediately by the owner of the account. A typical payment file might include the following information:

Since FedNow is a real-time payment system introduced by the Federal Reserve, its specifications and file formats would be officially documented and provided by the Federal Reserve or relevant governing body.
